Corsica 2016: tramonto all'Isula Roussa

Eccomi di nuovo e vi riporto subito immediatamente al mese di luglio, l'autunno è la fuori e il mio umore rimpiange i giorni spensierati in giro per la Corsica. Per la verità la vacanza vera e propria (quindi senza workshop ) è durata poco, però ogni giorno trascorso lì insieme a dei veri Còrsi e in mezzo alla bellezza selvaggia di questa Isola dalla storia difficile e dolorosa è stato un giorno bellissimo, indimenticabile...

I'm back and now I report immediately to the month of July, the autumn is out there and my mood regrets the thoughtless days traveling around Corsica. In reality, the actual holiday (without workshop) did not last long, but every day spent there with real Corsicans and amid the wild beauty of this island from the difficult and painful history has been a beautiful day, unforgettable ..

L'Isula Rossa circondata da isolotti di granito rosso e colline nella parte interna, fu dotata da Pasquale Paoli di un porto degno di fare concorrenza al porto, un po' troppo fedele a Genova,  della città di  Calvi. L'Isula Rossa è la città "paolina" per eccellenza, la piazza principale è dedicata proprio al "babbu di a  Patria" Pascale Paoli. Ma la vedremo dopo... Intanto ecco una bella bandiera che festeggia la vittoria del Portogallo sulla Francia. Proprio la sera prima c'era la finale dei campionati europei di calcio e, la mattina prima di partire, abbiamo festeggiato col nostro padrone di casa (un vero còrso, fan degli Arcusgi!!) la vittoria della squadra portoghese, spaventando un po' i francesi che avevamo intorno!

 Un centro balneare molto carino, caratteristico e moderno, tranquillo e ben fornito di locali e negozi (anche ottime pasticcerie). Notevole il "Marché Couvert" uno dei locali più antichi, il Café de Platanes. Al centro della piazza troneggia il busto dell'eroe còrso per eccellenza (che amava Pisa, la sua Università e la lingua italiana).

A very nice beach town, quaint and modern, peaceful and well-stocked bars and shops (also excellent bakeries). Noteworthy is the "Marché Couvert" one of the oldest places, the Café de Platanes. At the center of the square stands the bust Corsican hero par excellence (he loved Pisa, its University and Italian language).

Dopo troviamo una libreria fornitissima dove si parla anche la lingua còrsa, e facciamo un bel po' di shopping! Io compro "Colamba" di Prosper Merimée; libro che poi ho divorato... e sono stata molto felice di leggerlo, ma mi sono sentita anche molto in colpa per le mie lacune: in questa isola "francese" sono informatissimi riguardo la storia e l'attualità italiana, ma la cosa non è reciproca. Parlando con qualche turista italiano abbiamo capito quanta ignoranza c'è riguardo la cultura e la storia  della Corsica. Purtroppo è un problema generale, per me non ha senso viaggiare per fini puramente turistici e frivoli, se la metà è solo il divertimento, allora tanto vale divertirsi a casa prima di fare tante brutte figure in giro per il mondo... I genovesi che abbiamo incontrato in questi tre anni di viaggi in corsica per me vicnono il premio per la maleducazione e la spacconeria.

 Ormai è pomeriggio inoltrato, molto soddisfatti del nostro giro, decidiamo di andare verso il mare!

 Abbiamo scelto la spiaggia di "Brodi" da toscanacci quali siamo, ottimo posto... spiaggia pulita, con una bellissima cornice (a parte i nudisti anziani in lontananza...!), soprattutto una mare caldo e calmo... Il tramondo è lento e spettacolare e poi... qui si mangia! Da Simbad, una palafitta in cui si mangia bene a prezzi normali (finalmente!) e il personale è davvero professionale! Da qui passa anche il treno, l'unica linea di tutta l'isola, e il suo passaggio è sempre un'evento!

We chose the "Brodi beach" by toscanacci that we are, great place ... clean beach, with a beautiful setting (apart from the nudist elderly in the distance ...!), Especially a warm and calm sea ... The tramondo it is slow and spectacular and then ... here you eat! From Sinbad, a stilt house where you eat well at normal prices (finally!) And the staff is really professional! From here also passes the train, the only line of the island, and its passage is always an event!

Il nostro nuovo Hotel è praticamente un museo di arte moderna, l'impiegato della reception è un chitarrista classico eccezionale! Peccato che domani dovremmo salutare anche tutto questo!

costa à costa

Di nuovo in viaggio, un giorno lunghissimo.. si parte dalla mia Pisa, si arriva a Livorno, imbarco velocissimo, nave piccola e poco frequentata, bene! Il viaggio è perfetto, tranquillo. Possiamo ammirare l’Amerigo Vespucci, peccato che partirà proprio oggi e non ce l’abbiamo fatta a visitarla, ma intanto è … bellissima! Il mare mi affascina e spaventa, nel mare  ti senti davvero un essere inutile, e ogni tanto fa bene resettare il proprio ego.

        L’arrivo a Bastia è puntuale ma, una volta sbarcati, iniziano prestissimo i guai: il secondo tunnel, quello che permette l’uscita diretta dalla città è chiuso. Siamo bloccati in centro con altre centinai di aiuto e non solo. Passiamo dal centro storico, sguardi allibiti, passano camion carichi di tutto, procediamo a passo d’uomo, intanto studio le vetrine e i volti della gente.

       L’indomani leggendo Corse Matin  scopriamo che la causa della chiusura del tunnel è stato un incendio volontario, sembra che il conducente di un furgone che trasportava materiale chimico e che soffriva di “turbe psichiche” abbia volutamente causato questo incidente. Anche l’aeroporto di Poretta è stato chiuso per via del fumo e spengere l’incendio è stato difficoltoso. Per noi solo il fastidio di stare due ore in più sotto il sole, chiusi in auto, e poi affrontare un lungo viaggio…

Back on the road, a very long day .. it start from my Pisa, you get to Livorno, fast boarding, small ship and thin, right! The trip is perfect, quiet. We can admire the Amerigo Vespucci, sin that will start today and we did not made to visit her, but in the meantime it is ... beautiful! The sea fascinates me and frightens, in the sea  you feel really be useless, and sometimes is good to reset one's ego.

       The arrival in Bastia is on time, but once landed, they start early troubles: the second tunnel, the one that allows direct output from the city is closed. We're stuck in the center with hundreds of other help and not only. We move from the old town, shocked looks, they pass trucks loaded with everything, we proceed to a crawl, meanwhile study the windows and the faces of the people.

       The next reading Corse Matin discover that the cause of the closure of the tunnel was an arson, it seems that the driver of a van carrying chemical material and that he suffered from "mental disorders" have deliberately caused this incident. Even the Poretta airport was closed because of smoke and extinguish the fire was difficult. For us only the hassle to stay two more hours under the sun, then placed in the car, and then face a long journey ...

Finalmente dopo due ore riusciamo ad scappare dal Bastia, ritroviamo zone che abbiamo visitato a settembre 2015, le salutiamo di sfuggita e poi saliamo per i monti. Quando abbiamo davvero bisogno di una pausa per sgranchire un po’ le gambe ecco che appare un luogo mitico della storia della Corsica, U Ponte Novu, uno dei simboli della Resistenza anti-francese. A Ponte Nuovo (località dove oggi vivono circa 50 persone) l'8 maggio 1769, si svolse la battaglia di Ponte Nuovo, tra le truppe isolane di Pasquale Paoli contro le truppe del francesi di Luigi XV comandate da Noël Jourda, conte di Vaux. Questo avvenimento avrebbe segnato la fine della repubblica paolina, fondata nel 1755 con capitale Corte.

Durante la seconda guerra mondiale, il ponte fu poi quasi totalmente distrutto nel corso degli gli scontri con l'esercito tedesco in ritirata verso Bastia nel settembre 1943, incalzato dall'avanzata delle truppe italiane, coadiuvate dalle truppe francesi e dalla Resistenza locale.

Quindi ne approfittiamo per fare qualche foto ricordo, e rendere omaggio agli eroici caduti.

So we take the opportunity to do some souvenir photos, and pay tribute to the fallen heroes.

Incontriamo anche il treno a scartamento ridotto, attraversa un paesaggio da far west! Immagino che attraversare questa isola in treno sia un'avventura incredibile! E anche noi ci rimettiamo in moto...

Un'altra pausa è necessaria per fare amicizia con qualche animaletto! Siamo al centro dell'Isola! Qui siamo già stati nel 2014, ci sono boschi incredibili e tantissimi teneri maiali in mezzo alla strada!

Un piccolo video, questi boschi sono bellissimi e freschi. Nota negativa la presenza di una caserma di paracadutisti, il posto è bello e certamente qui si riposano, ma si capisce che è una mossa della Francia per far sentire la sua presenza anche nelle zone meno abitate e più selvagge.

Un'altra cosa che colpisce molto sono i castagni secolari, delle piante gigantesche con straordinarie fioriture (si capisce perchè il miele della Corsica è così buono), questi castagni somigliano molto a quelli che si trovano sui monti Pisani, soprattutto quelli del Monte Serra. Allora mi chiedo... chi gli avrà piantumati?! I Pisani? I Genovesi? I francesi? Ma alla fine eccoci arrivati a Carghjese, corriamo al nostro albergo e poi verso la spaiggia di Peru per il meritato riposo... La sabbia calda è proprio quello di cui aveva bisogno la mia schiena, Marco invece preferisce nuotare incontro al nostro primo tramonto in.. vacanza!

Another thing that strikes are very secular chestnut trees, gigantic plants with extraordinary blooms (you can tell because the honey of Corsica is so good), these chestnut trees look very much like those found on the mountains Pisani, especially those of the Monte Serra. So I wonder ... whosoever shall planted ?! The Pisani? The Genoese? The French? But finally here we are in Carghjese, we run to our hotel and then to the spaiggia of Peru for a well earned rest ... The hot sand is just what he needed my back, Marco prefers swim meet our first sunset in .. holiday!

l'abuso edilizio ;(((

Purtroppo non manca un abuso edilizio, a Cargjese c'è anche il Club Med (ma nei pressi di un'altra spaiggia), la perfezione non esiste... 

Comunque non ci siamo dimenticati del cibo: ceniamo benissimo in un ristorante molto carino, c'è la partita Francia - Germania (per la strada abbiamo visto una sola bandiera francese) e l'interesse dei còrsi è minimo, ci sarà solo un breve carosello per festeggiare la vittoria della Francia colonizzatrice..

Dopo cena torniamo in albergo, urge il restauro e un po' di demenza, poi facciamo un giro a piedi per il centro e fino al porticciolo...

After dinner back to the hotel, we need restoration and a bit 'of dementia, then we make a walk to the center and to the marina ...
